Who Is Eligible?
1. Live in Michigan
You must live in the State of Michigan.
2. Be An Eligible Family Member/Friend
For the Michigan Home Help Program you cannot be a spouse of the patient or parent of a patient who is under 18. All other family members are eligible.
3. Have Medicaid and Get On a Waiver
Be eligible for Medicaid or already have Medicaid while meeting financial/asset requirements for the Medicaid’s Home Help Program (Don’t worry! The Paid.care team can help!)

This is an alternative to living in an adult foster care home, a retirement home, or a nursing facility. Home help agencies are connected to programs funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) that allow qualified individuals to hire caregivers to assist them with daily activities. -
In Illinois, those who live in the home of a loved one on Medicaid and the Community Care Program qualifies. This includes children, and anyone except for spouses and power of attorneys.
Clinical Eligibility:Home help agencies can assist with a variety of essential daily tasks, allowing individuals to remain independent in their own homes. These tasks include:
Meal preparation and assistance with eating
Bathing and personal hygiene
Dressing and grooming
Moving safely within the home
Transferring between bed, chair, and other positions
Using the toilet and maintaining continence
This support helps individuals avoid the need to transition to assisted living facilities or nursing homes.
Financial eligibility is categorized into two primary components: income and assets.Qualifying for the Home Help Program:
Active Medicaid: Having active Medicaid is one way to qualify for in-home assistance programs.
Income Exceeding Limits: Even if your income surpasses standard Medicaid limits, programs with deductibles might be available.
